Islamabad (Special Correspondent) According to Global Times Media Europe, Acting Chairman Senate Syedal Khan Nasir has said in his special message on the occasion of Pakistan Defense Day that September 6 is an unforgettable day in our national history, which reminds us of the great sacrifices of the martyrs, the bravery of the ghazis and the patriotic spirit of the entire nation. He said that in the 1965 war, the Pakistani forces, displaying unparalleled bravery and professionalism, thwarted the enemy’s intentions, while the nation fully supported its forces with unity and determination. The sacrifices of the martyrs teach us to remain united to protect national unity, national security and sovereignty. Saidal Khan Nasir said that today national defense is not limited to the protection of borders only, but economic stability, the rule of law and constitution, strong democratic institutions, education, science and technology and social harmony are also important pillars of national strength. To strengthen Pakistan, the economy and institutions must be strengthened and the youth must be equipped with modern education and skills. He said that Pakistan is a peaceful country and desires lasting peace in the region, however, no compromise can be made on national security, sovereignty and dignity. The entire nation stands united with the Pakistani Armed Forces. The Acting Chairman Senate also appreciated the diplomatic and leadership efforts of the current political and military leadership and said that Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir played an important role in reducing global tensions and saving the region from a major conflict, which has been appreciated at the global level. He paid tribute to the families of the martyrs and urged the nation to play its role in making Pakistan a strong, united, prosperous and dignified state by making the martyrs’ spirit of sacrifice a beacon of light. He also prayed for the peace, stability and prosperity of the country and the safety of the soldiers of the Pakistani Armed Forces.
