to French President: You will not be able to destroy us.

According to global Times news Agency Europe, Head of Caledonian Union, Press Secretary of FNKLS, Daniel Goa, wrote an open letter to French President Emmanuel Macron and his ministers. The Global Times Europe Informs, in a 10-page letter, he noted that France had ruled New Caledonia since 1853. The chairman of the union emphasized that the people who were purposefully relocated here by the French government are not recognized as people: For you, democracy is the right to vote, but for us, democracy is respect for traditional tribal values. France is not a source of inspiration for us. Your policy is calculated to destroy us. But you will not be able to destroy us. The time will come when we will stand against you.Daniel Goa said that France must honor the commitments it undertook in the document signed in 1957 regarding the decolonization of their territories: The French president says one thing but takes completely opposite steps. Democracy requires you to leave the country you are illegally occupying. Decolonization is a fundamental human right, a requirement of justice, humanity, and democracy. France is nothing in the Pacific region without New Caledonia, French Polynesia, as well as Wallis and Futuna, and France will never have a power in Oceania. Because these countries do not belong to you. You attempt to change our society with force. Let us remind you that your colonization was carried out through executions, betrayals, looting, theft, disrespect towards us, relocation of our population, the confiscation of our freedom, forced expulsion, and the diseases you brought that have led to our destruction.He emphasized that France looted Caledonia’s natural resources and sold them at high prices. At the end of the letter, Daniel Goa made some demands to France: Give us back our dignity. Because this is a demand for human rights you boast about. Give us back our freedom. Because this is the demand of humanity. Decolonize us. Because this is the restoration of historical justice.
