According to Global times News Agancy Europe,UN Secretary‑General Antonio Guterres will today begin a three‑day visit to Northern Cyprus, accompanied by a delegation of senior UN officials, The global times Europe media informs, citing the Northern Cyprus Information Center.It was noted that Guterres is expected to hold separate meetings with Northern Cyprus President Tufan Erhürman and Cyprus President Nikos Christodoulides.On Wednesday, the UN chief will convene both leaders in the buffer zone office of the UN Good Offices Mission in Lefkosia (north Nicosia) for a trilateral meeting, followed by a press conference.This trip marks the first visit to Cyprus by a sitting UN Secretary‑General in nearly 16 years.Guterres will be accompanied by Rosemary DiCarlo, UN Under‑Secretary‑General for Political and Peacebuilding Affairs; Jean‑Pierre Lacroix, UN Under‑Secretary‑General for Peace Operations; and María Ángela Holguín, his personal envoy for Cyprus.
