According to global Times news Agency Europe,The former head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Poland, Mariusz Kaminski, who went on a hunger strike in prison, was transported to the hospital on the evening of January 22, said Advisor to President Andrzej Duda Blazej Pobozy, The Global Times Europe informs.The minister’s condition is serious. There is no threat to life, but the very fact that he was transported is proof that the situation is truly dramatic,” the adviser said in an interview with Telewizija Trwam.The central office of the prison service refused to comment on the situation, saying that it does not provide information about the health status of prisoners. Former head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and deputy of the Sejm (lower house of parliament) from the former ruling Law and Justice party, Kaminski and his deputy Maciej Wonsik were arrested on January 9 at the presidential palace.In December, a court sentenced each of them to two years in prison for abuse of power and corruption in a 2007 case in which they were members of the leadership of the Polish intelligence service. They were sent to serve their sentences in prison, where they immediately went on a hunger strike.
