According to global Times news agency Europe,The EU has started work on the 17th package of sanctions targeting Russia, the EUObserver portal said, citing European diplomatic sources. The global Times Europe media.One source noted that while the process of drafting the new restrictions has begun, it is still in the very early stages.According to another EU diplomat, the EU’s foreign service and the European Commission are actively engaged in this effort, with proposals likely to be presented by early summer.EUObserver also highlighted that the EU could face challenges in securing approval for the new sanctions package, particularly due to the potential for a veto from Hungary. Budapest may also hinder the extension of the EU’s current economic sanctions against Russia, which were extended for an additional six months at the end of January.
