Peshawar:(Special Correspondent) According to Global Times Media Europe, an extraordinary emergency meeting was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Charsadda Dr. Azmatullah Wazir to deal with the possible flood situation in the district in an immediate and effective manner. The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner (Relief) Charsadda, all Assistant Commissioners, all Additional Assistant Commissioners, TMOs, Irrigation Department, Local Government, Police, Rescue 1122 and other concerned departments. During the meeting, the Additional Deputy Commissioner (Relief) gave a detailed briefing to the participants regarding the current situation of rivers and canals, illegal encroachments on the banks of the rivers, illegal boating, sensitive places, rescue points, emergency machinery and relief measures.On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Charsadda Dr. Azmatullah Wazir issued instructions to all the concerned departments and said that the district administration should remain fully alert to deal with any emergency situation and all the officers should ensure continuous field monitoring in their respective areas. He directed to take immediate action against illegal encroachments on the banks of the rivers, complete ban on illegal boating and take strict legal action against the violators. Deputy Commissioner Charsadda Dr. Azmatullah Wazir further directed that the availability of staff, boats, life jackets and other necessary rescue equipment should be ensured at all times at all rescue points, while continuous monitoring of sensitive and low-lying areas should be continued so that immediate and effective response can be given in any untoward situation. He gave clear instructions to the concerned officers that the protection of lives and property of the public is the top priority of the district administration, therefore all the departments should ensure mutual communication, coordinated strategy and constant readiness. He also appealed to the citizens not to unnecessarily resort to rivers, canals and storm drains during rains and possible flooding, to follow the instructions of the administration and in case of any emergency, to immediately contact Rescue 1122 or the district administration. The district administration of Charsadda is fully prepared to deal with any kind of emergency and all available resources are being utilized to protect the lives and property of the people.
