Peshawar:(Special Correspondent) According to Global Times Media Europe, Al-Khidmat Foundation has launched the Al-Khidmat Summer Internship Program to provide opportunities for voluntary service in the field of public service to students studying in universities and colleges across the country. Under this program, students interested in social work will be provided with a six-month internship. During the internship, students will get opportunities to participate in various Al-Khidmat projects such as orphan care programs, Aghosh Homes, Street Children Centers, free blood donation camps for thalassemia patients, and preparing data on out-of-school children, among other welfare activities. Apart from this, they will also participate in providing free relief to the victims in collaboration with Al-Khidmat Foundation in any natural disaster or emergency. During the ceremony, a discussion was also held between Fazal Hussain, Special Secretary, Higher Education Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Professor (Fulbright) Dr. Sarzameen Khan, Vice Chancellor of the University of Agriculture Peshawar, and Vice Chancellors of various public and private universities, who expressed their views on the importance of volunteer services in shaping the personality of students. At the end of the program, commemorative shields were also presented to the distinguished guests.
