A man who inspired two centuries!

Great people do not follow, they lead and Ameer Muhammad Akram Awan (R.A.) is no exception to them. The spiritual head of the Order Owaisiah, whose spiritual magnetism and light will never diminish yet graces believer hearts until now after his demise. Sheikh-ul-Mukarram as a Quran commentator, translator of Quran, head of Order Owaisiah (1984 – 2017) and prime mover of political band Alikhwan, need no introduction.

Born on December 31, 1934, in Nurpur Sethi village in an academic and military family, Ameer Muhammad Akram Awan (r.a) is a man who inspired two centuries. Since his childhood, he grew up with sublime values and morals, in which wisdom, discipline, libation, faith, spirit and compassion for Almighty creatures was his salient feature. A flamboyant orator, spiritual healer, human polisher, he was a visionary man of sublime spiritual heights.

In his youth, he met his Sheikh in critical times when his lifeboat was under the sharp blow of circumstances, and his spiritual life was under a storm by so-called mullahs and peers. Eventually, his yo-yoing boat was harboured under his accomplished Sheikh (guide) protection that illuminated his breast with divine rapture and Holy Prophet-saw love. His bond with Sheikh was unflinching and unwavering. He remained 25 years with his master till his demise and succeeded next to him. He was not only a disciple of his great Sheikh, but a wish (Murad) for him. Since he assumed office as Order head, he actively imparted this unparalleled legacy of Prophet Muhammad blessings (Barakat-e-Nabvi-saw) in a purified form to the actual descendants of this legacy. To know the real worth of his spiritual sublimity, one must require a spiritual acquaintance.

Moreover, with his charismatic leadership skills, he institutionalized the whole structure on a distinct organizational basis. One of his spectacular achievements that prove his great organizational approach is to convene all the individuals who gathered around his Sheikh into an organization (Jammat) and played a pivotal role in kneading them into a unified group. That’s why he was titled general (Jarnel) by his Sheikh.

There are myriad viewpoints of Ameer Muhammad Akram Awan’s (r.a) life, yet some are delineated here. He has authored several books on Tasawwuf. Israr-ul-Tanzil is one of his commentaries on the Quran, having a notable status. The commentary style is plain. Following this matchless effort is Akram-ut-Tafsir, which is a masterpiece of narrative exposition (Bayaniah Tafsir). The Punjabi commentary "Rab-Diya-Galan” has been made public. You have the privilege to translate the Quran named Akram-ut-Tarajim.

Tasawwuf is the domain in which Sheikh-ul-Mukarram (r.a) penned numerous notable works to refute the idea that Tasawwuf is nothing but an escape from practical life. As a trustee of this genuine spiritual wealth, he inscribed distinct writings on the mystic path (Sulook) stations (maqamat), meditations (muraqbat), and their significance and impact in life.

We know Ameer Muhammad Akram Awan (r.a) to mould his bosom feelings into poetic verses. Your various poetic collections, which include: Hamd-o-Naat, Nishan-e-Manzil, Dil-Darwaza, Garde-Safer, Mutah-e-Faqeer, Aas Jazeera, Deeeda-e-Tar, Konsi, Aisy baat hue hy, and Soch Samandar, are published.

Also, Sheikh-ul-Mukarram found exquisite taste in reading. His library consisted of more than 10,000 books. Within it, he was an accomplished horse rider, a great tourist. He was fond of collecting antiques. Despite his religious activities, he is a skilled shooter, best horse rider, diligent agriculturist and triumphant businessman.

It is nearly impossible to limit his multi-faceted personality so one can get the idea of his services to Islam that Ameer Muhammad Akram Awan (r.a) name has been listed among five hundred influential and inspiring figures from subsequent years globally in the book ‘The Muslim 500’ published under the banner of ‘The Royal Strategic Studies Centre Jordan.’

Ameer Muhammad Akram Awan R.A. on December 7, 2017, at Friday, in Islamabad at the age of 83 curtained from this materialistic world. According to his will, he was buried in Manara. Ameer Muhammad Akram Awan (r.a) demise caused great shock not only for his disciples and loved ones but for the whole Islamic world.
