According to Global Times News Agency Europe,The Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), His Excellency Mr. IsmailOuldCheikhAhmed, assumed his duties today, Saturday, at the General Secretariat headquarters. He held a number of internal meetings and began a direct and detailed review of work in progress across the Organization’s various sectors, as well as of the most prominent files and priority issues. This will enable him to assess the current state of institutional performance and identify practical priorities for the next phase.In this context, the Secretary-General issued his first decisions, concerning appointments to several leadership positions within the General Secretariat. These included the Director-General of the Cabinet, the Advisor to the Secretary-General, and the Director-General for Administrative and Financial Affairs, to ensure the smooth running of work and the timely follow-up of files.The Secretary-General is scheduled to hold an extensive meeting soon with the officials and staff of the General Secretariat, to communicate with them directly, listen to their opinions and suggestions, and inform them of the directions and priorities that will guide the work of the General Secretariat in the next stage. The aim is to enhance the spirit of teamwork, consolidate a culture of performance, achievement and accountability, and prepare the Organization to play its role in a more effective and influential way.
