Islamabad:(Special Representative)According to Global times News Agancy Europe,The Hon’ble Chief justice of Pakistan/ Chairman Board of Governors (BoG) of the Federal Judicial Academy today chaired the Meeting of the Board of Governors (BoG) of the Federal Judicial Academy (FJA) held at conference room of the Supreme Court of Pakistan.The meeting was attended by Mr. Azam Nazeer Tarar, Federal Minister for Law and Justice/ Vice Chairman of the Board; Mr. Mansoor Usman Awan, Attorney General for Pakistan, Justice Miss. Aalia Neelum, Hon’ble Chief Justice of the Lahore High Court, Justice Sardar Muhammad Sarfraz Dogar, Hon’ble Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court Islamabad; Justice Syed. Muhammad Attique Shah, Hon’ble Chief Justice of the Peshawar High Court; Mr. Justice Zafar Ahmed Rajput, Hon’ble Chief Justice of the High Court of Sindh; Mr. Justice Muhammad Kamran Khan Malakhail, Hon’ble Chief Justice of the High Court of Baluchistan; Muhammad Khashi-ur-Rehman, Secretary, Ministry of Law and Justice and the Director General Mr. Hayat Ali Shah, Member/ Secretary to the BoG. Hon’ble Mr. Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb, Judge, Supreme Court of Pakistan/ Advisor to the Board of Governors attended the meeting on special invitation. Additional Secretary Finance Division, Mr. Fazil Abbasi also attended the meeting on invitation.Hon’ble Mr. Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb briefed the Board about the overall functioning and ongoing initiatives of the Federal Judicial Academy and presented a comprehensive overview of the salient features of the draft Federal Judicial Academy (Terms and Conditions of Service) Rules, 2026. The Board of Governors deliberated in detail upon the proposed Rules and other agenda items and, after due consideration, unanimously approved the Federal Judicial Academy (Terms and Conditions of Service) Rules, 2026, as well as the proposal concerning the maintenance and repair of the Academy’s infrastructure. The Director General Federal Judicial Academy presented the Annual Report for the year 2023-2024 to the Board.The Board expressed appreciation for the Academy’s continued efforts in advancing judicial education and enhancing the professional competence of judicial officers nationwide and stressed the need for training of the judges on the subjects of United Nations Convention on the Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Arbitral awards and enforcement (Arbitration Agreement and Foreign Awards) Act, 2011.
