Subject: Urgent Action Needed to Address Traffic Congestion on Adyala Road, Rawalpindi

I am writing to bring to your attention the escalating traffic congestion on Adyala Road, Rawalpindi, primarily caused by encroachments and ongoing construction activities. As one of the busiest routes in the city, due to its proximity to the jail and frequent VIP movements, Adyala Road plays a crucial role in connecting key areas of Rawalpindi.

In recent months, encroachments have become increasingly widespread, with sidewalks and narrow roadways obstructed by street vendors, illegally parked vehicles, and unauthorized constructions. These encroachments have significantly reduced the space available for both vehicles and pedestrians, severely impeding traffic flow and creating considerable safety risks.

The ongoing construction work from jail to Khawaja Corporation, particularly the flyover project at Khawaja Corporation, has exacerbated the situation. Inadequate planning, insufficient signage, and delays in roadworks have forced drivers to navigate through narrow, blocked lanes, further compounding the congestion.

This growing issue is not only inconveniencing daily commuters, students and residents but is also negatively impacting local businesses and contributing to pollution. Given the critical nature of Adyala Road, immediate intervention is required.

I urge the local authorities and relevant departments to take immediate action to address this issue, particularly by removing encroachments that obstruct roadways and impede traffic flow.
