Former Additional Secretary to the Government of Pakistan and former Provincial Minister Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa, Khushdil Khan Malik visited Consulate of Pakistan in Bradford, where he was warmly welcome by the Consul General, Sammar Javed and other staff of the Consulate. At this occasion, Former Councillor of Glasgow City Council, Jehangir Hanif Siddiqui and Member of Pakistani Community Abdul Hameed were also accompanied Mr. Malik.
During the meeting with the Consul General, it was informed that this time Pakistani diaspora has celebrated Independence Day with great pump and show and apart from official ceremony in the Consulate, various functions in different cities and towns in Scotland were organized by the community as also attended by the Consul General in which First Minister of Scotland Mr. Jhon Swinny and Secretary of Finance Ms. Shona Robinson also participated in such an event held in Dundee, which is unprecedented and it shows that Pakistan has gained a lot after the glorious victory in the war against India in May, 2025.
It was also informed that the Consulate has close liasian with Pakistani diaspora living in Scotland and Northern Ireland and it provides Registration and NICOP services, in addition to other services. It was further informed that the Consulate is also keeping close liaison with the community and it’s officers frequently participate in their social/national functions and sports events, therefore, the relationship between the community and the Consulate staff is cordial and their issues are frequently discussed and resolved regularly. Mr. Malik highly appreciated such gesture of the Consulate and hoped that community will take benefit by applying for NICOP being their Pakistani identity and its in-built visa facility and will take part in the economic development of Pakistan by playing their vital role.
On this occasion, it was also informed that the community has highly applauded the brave Armed Forces of Pakistan for the glorious victory over India in the recent war under the able command of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir which has brought pride and pleasure for the diaspora living all over the world as they showed their such affection recently in the grand convention held in Brussels which was also attended by the large number of Community members from Scotland, where slogans of "Pakistan Zindabad” were chanted by the huge number of Pakistani diaspora in jubilation on the historic victory of Pakistan in "Marika e Haq” and also accorded great honour to the Field Marshal and our brave Armed Forces.
