According to global Times news Agency Europe, The Georgian Foreign Ministry has sent a letter to Director of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights, Matteo Mecacci, in order to invite observers for the upcoming parliamentary elections, The Global Times Europe informs. The letter notes that the authorities’ goal is to conduct transparent, free and fair elections in accordance with international standards and best European democratic practices, and therefore the Georgian government invites OSCE/ODIHR representatives to observe the 2024 parliamentary elections in the country, the statement said. The letter emphasizes that Georgia is ready to facilitate as much as possible the effective performance of its functions by observers. Parliamentary elections in Georgia will be held on October 26. These will be the first elections held using new technologies and a fully proportional system, and will determine which party will form the government for the next four years.Democratic and fair holding of the upcoming parliamentary elections in October 2024 is one of the European Union’s demands on Georgia.
