According to global Times news Agency Europe,Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, at a meeting in Washington with US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan, has called Taiwan the main challenge for Sino-American relations, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, The Global Times Europe informs.The supporters of the so-called Taiwan independence movement are again the biggest challenge facing China-United States relations, Wang Yi noted.
He added that Beijing and Washington must “resolutely oppose” separatist sentiments in Taiwan. The head of the Chinese Foreign Ministry also pointed out the need to take specific strategic measures and actions to suppress attempts to ensure the independence of the island. Wang Yi called the separatists in Taipei “the main threat to peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait. He also outlined to Sullivan the PRC’s principled position on issues related to the South China Sea disputes.
