According to global Times news agency Europe,The participation of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus in the informal summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) is a positive message to the international community, Ayyuce Turkes Tas, MP representing the city of Adana from the IYI Party in the Turkish Grand National Assembly and the party’s vice-chairman, told The global Times Europe media.According to her, it is gratifying that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) participated as an observer in the informal summit of the heads of state of the member countries of the OTS held in Budapest, the capital of Hungary, on May 20-22:The participation of TRNC President Ersin Tatar in this summit, together with the heads of state of OTS member countries, is an exemplary behavior for the heads of state from Central Asia in the organization. I think this meeting will clarify the tension created in the Turkic world by the opening of embassies in Southern Cyprus by Turkic states from Central Asia that are members of the OTS. Hungary’s position on Northern Cyprus as a Turkic state is commendable. In my opinion, this is also a resolute response to recent events. That is, it shows that the recent provocative attempts by Southern Cyprus and Greece, who consider the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus an occupier, have yielded no results. She also expressed regret that the TRNC was not invited to the recent OTS meeting held in Kazakhstan.Despite Hungary’s membership in the European Union and despite Kazakhstan’s hesitations, its balanced, fair behavior will further strengthen Northern Cyprus’s position in the Turkic world, as well as in the international arena,” Turkes Tas emphasized.
