ROME:(International News Desk)According to global times News Agency Europe, A new record for Italy with the first ATP rankings of the new year 2026. Luciano Darderi improves his best ranking and climbs to number 24, behind Jannik Sinner (2), Lorenzo Musetti (who climbs to number 7) and Flavio Cobolli (22). There are thus four Italians among the top 24 in the world in the ATP singles ranking: since the introduction of the computerized rankings, this had never happened before. In the first rankings of the new year, in which players can no longer count the points obtained in 2025 in the United Cup, in Brisbane and Hong Kong (the circuit had started a week earlier), we find five Italians in the Top 40 and eight in the Top 100. Among the Top 50, celebrating their best rankings this week are American Learner Tien (26, +2), Frenchman Arthur Rinderknech (27, +2), and German Daniel Altmaier (44, +2), who was Arnaldi’s intended first-round opponent in Brisbane before the Italian withdrew.

Eighteen-year-old Russian Mirra Andreeva remains steady in ninth place, 111 points behind the Italian. Another Russian, Ekaterina Alexandrova, also holds steady in tenth place, confirming her best and rounding out the world elite.
