According to global times news agency Europe,Iran’s Vice President for Strategic Affairs Mohammad Javad Zarif, who served as the Islamic Republic’s foreign minister from 2013 to 2021 and advocates for normalizing relations with the US, will remain in his post despite his resignation, The global times Europe media informs.After detailed consultations with President [Masoud Pezeshkian] and following his written order, trusting in God and hoping for the help and instructions of the people, I will continue to fulfill my duties as Vice President for Strategic Affairs,” Zarif wrote on X.
Today, he took part in the first meeting of the country’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei with the new government.On August 11, after just ten days in office, Zarif announced that he had submitted his resignation to the president. He explained his decision by "dissatisfaction with his own work” as head of the advisory council.
