Creation of SCO investment fund and
investor association discussed in Tehran

According to global Times news Agency Europe,Tehran hosted a meeting of the special working group on promoting investment from the countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) under the chairmanship of Tajikistan and Iran.The Global Times Europe Media that the event focused on the creation of an investment fund and an investor association within the organization. Tajikistan’s Foreign Ministry noted in a statement that the sides echanged views on the draft agreement on the creation of the SCO Investment Fund and the concept of creating the SCO Investors Association. As part of this meeting, the Tajik side presented the investment opportunities of Tajikistan.The event participants also discussed the implementation of the SCO economic development strategy until 2030 and the program of multilateral trade and economic cooperation on investment interaction.
President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev proposed to create the SCO Investment Fund during an online meeting of the SCO Council of Heads of State in July 2023.
