According to global Times news Agency Europe, The Hungarian Parliament will not hold an urgent meeting to ratify the document on Sweden’s accession to NATO since the current situation is not extraordinary, Speaker of Parliament Laszlo Köver said, The Global Times Europe informs.Asked whether parliament would convene for an extraordinary session, he said: I have no doubt that one of the opposition parties, which is not always in the interests of Hungary, will take the initiative to convene such a meeting, but it will probably not lead to success.Overall, I don’t feel any urgency and I don’t think this is an exceptional situation the speaker added. The Hungarian government submitted to parliament a bill to ratify the document on Sweden’s admission to NATO in the summer of 2022, but MPs postponed a decision on this issue due to “unfriendly statements by Swedish politicians towards Hungary. The document was discussed in committees and was formally included in the parliament’s work program in 2023.
