FRANCE(International News Desk) According to global times News Agency Europe,The European Commission has approved the Plan for Affordable, Sustainable and Good-Quality Housing. The Commission will therefore support Member States, regions, and cities by taking action where this can bring added value to the EU .This plan focuses on increasing housing supply, encouraging investment and reforms, combating short-term rentals in areas experiencing housing difficulties, and supporting those most affected. The Plan proposes measures for a more productive and innovative construction and renovation sector, which will address the gap between housing supply and demand through the European Housing Strategy. The package also includes a Communication and a Council Recommendation on the New European Bauhaus (NEB). As a promoter of the clean transition, innovation, and the bioeconomy, the NEB supports sustainable, accessible, and high-quality projects, primarily in the built environment.The NEB Academy revitalizes and upgrades the construction ecosystem for sustainable and circular construction and supports innovation and research in the sector. Revised EU state aid rules will make it easier for Member States to financially support affordable and social housing.The Commission will work with national, regional, and local authorities to simplify rules and procedures that limit the supply of housing, with a particular focus on planning and permit issuance. A new legislative initiative on short-term rentals will support areas experiencing housing difficulties.The Commission has so far mobilized € 43 billion in investment in the residential real estate sector and will continue to do so under the next long-term EU budget. It is also developing a new pan-European investment platform in collaboration with the European Investment Bank, national and regional promotional banks, and other international financial institutions.
