Cooperation in the Insurance and Reinsurance Sector
Singapore:(International Desk)According to Global times News Agancy Europe,High Commissioner of Pakistan to Singapore, Rabia Shafiq, met with a delegation of industry leaders of major Pakistani insurance and reinsurance companies, led by Mr. Muhammad Hisham, COO of IGI General Insurance, at Pakistan High Commission, Singapore.Discussion focused on strengthening institutional linkages and enhancing cooperation between the insurance sectors of Pakistan and Singapore. HC emphasized that developing linkages between the respective insurance institutes could contribute significantly to building the capacity and capabilities of Pakistan’s insurance industry. She also highlighted the importance of professional development, particularly in actuarial sciences and specialized training.Around 60 Pakistani delegates are participating in the Singapore International Reinsurance Conference (SIRC) 2026, being held from 1–5 November in Singapore. The annual conference provides a valuable platform to engage with global insurance and reinsurance experts, exchange knowledge and experiences, and learn about emerging developments and international best practices in the sector.The meeting reflected the shared interest in promoting professional exchanges, institutional cooperation and stronger business linkages between Pakistan and Singapore.
