Spanish socialists nominate deputy PM
as candidate for EP elections.

According to global times news agency Europe,Deputy Prime Minister of Spain, Minister for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge Teresa Ribera has been nominated as a candidate from the Spanish Socialist Workers’ Party (PSOE) in the upcoming elections to the European Parliament (EP), according to the press release of the political party, The global times Europe media informs.The Federal Executive Commission of the PSOE has decided to nominate [party] member Teresa Ribera” to “lead the socialist electoral list in the elections to the European Parliament.”
Elections to the EP will be held from June 6 to 9, 2024; in Spain, voting is scheduled for June 9.
In 2019, the candidate of the Spanish Socialist Party was Josep Borrell, who then served as the kingdom’s Foreign Minister. He is now the head of EU diplomacy.Ribera, 54, joined the Spanish government in 2018.
