Senator Amir Waliuddin Chishti Calls
for Inclusive Governance, Public Trust and Global Peace
ISLAMABAD:(Special Representative)According to Global times News Agancy Europe,Trust is not assumed or taken for granted; it must be earned through responsive, accountable, inclusive and effective institutions,” Senator Amir Waliuddin Chishti said while addressing the 153rd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), stressing that good governance and equal opportunities are essential for strengthening democracy and empowering communities.Speaking on the theme “Enhancing Good Governance and Empowering Communities Through Inclusivity, Trust and Opportunities for All,” Senator Chishti conveyed a message of peace, understanding and parliamentary cooperation on behalf of Pakistan’s Parliament and people.He highlighted Pakistan’s economic, institutional and governance reforms under Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, aimed at promoting transparency, equity and public empowerment. He also underscored the role of parliamentary committees, caucuses and public engagement in strengthening accountability and inclusive decision-making.
Expressing concern over the global trust deficit, climate crisis, violations of national sovereignty and disregard for international law, he warned that using shared resources, including water and trade, as instruments of coercion undermines international stability and cooperation.
Senator Chishti reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to global peace and cooperation, highlighting its diplomatic efforts, including the Islamabad Accord and the Makkah Defence Pact.
Concluding his address, he emphasized that sustainable development and prosperity require mutual respect, inclusive institutions and international cooperation.“Peace is the prerequisite for prosperity,” he stated, calling upon parliamentarians to work collectively for a more just, inclusive and peaceful world.
