Child abuse is not only a tragedy,it is a hidden driver of Pakistan’s rising crime rates. At truck stands, bus stops, and transport hubs, vulnerable children are exploited, silenced, and abandoned. Surveys such as Sahil’s Cruel Numbers reveal thousands of cases every year, while documentaries like Pakistan’s Hidden Shame expose how homeless boys are targeted by truck drivers and others.
The impacts ripple across society. Survivors often carry trauma that fuels aggression, substance use, and crime. Families are shattered, education is lost, and communities weakened. When children grow up in exploitation, they are denied dignity and opportunity, and crime flourishes in the vacuum.
This is not just a law enforcement issue—it is a collective responsibility. Civil society must break the silence, local governments must enforce laws, parents must educate and protect, and bystanders must report and intervene.
Protecting children is not optional. It is the foundation of a safe, stable Pakistan.
