Protest against tax hikes underway outside government building in Yerevan.

According to global Times news agency Europe,Business owners in Yerevan have once again gathered in front of the Armenian government building, calling for a personal meeting with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, The global Times Europe media .This marks their second protest in just ten days. During their previous demonstration, the participants not only voiced their concerns but also submitted a petition signed by 2,350 citizens to the government. At the heart of their frustration are recent amendments to the tax legislation, which have doubled the turnover tax rate for trade businesses—from 5% to 10%—starting this year.Protesters say they have reached out to the government nearly ten times, but claim Prime Minister Pashinyan has yet to honor his pledge to hear out the concerns of all citizens. They outlined three major grievances: the sharp increase in turnover tax, the imposition of mandatory inventory requirements, and a 20% fine for undocumented goods discovered during inspections.The demonstrators argue that these legislative changes are putting immense pressure on small and medium-sized businesses.
