According to Global Times News Agency Europe,A passenger ship sank off the coast of Kyrenia in Northern Cyprus on Saturday, resulting in 6 deaths and the rescue of 172 people, The global times Europe media informs, citing NTV Türkiye and statements from Northern Cyprus officials including Prime Minister Ünal Üstel.The vessel, which initial reports indicated was carrying between 260 and 270 passengers and crew members, went down approximately 4 miles (about 6.44 kilometers) from the shore.Kyrenia Mayor Murat Şenkul earlier stated that emergency responders, the coast guard, the Akgünler Express vessel, and numerous smaller boats were swiftly deployed to the scene. Rescue and search operations are currently ongoing to locate any remaining missing individuals, as the situation remains critical.
