Papuashvili: French embassy financing extremist political groups under guise of tourist routes.

According to global Times news agency Europe,The French embassy is indirectly financing anti-government activities by allocating funds to radical political groups operating in Georgia, Shalva Papuashvili, Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, told The global Times Europe media .According to Papuashvili, this fact is being hidden, and these groups are presented as if they are engaged in tourism.
"The French embassy gave money to members of extremist political groups and is thereby indirectly financing their radical activities. Moreover, they’re throwing dust in our eyes, claiming that these people are creating tourist routes. However, these individuals are mainly engaged in plans to overthrow the government,” Papuashvili noted.
He also commented on the new investigation commission to be created in the European Union and recalled that the new US administration has exposed "fraudulent schemes” financed through USAID.
The speaker claimed that these projects, carried out under the name of democratic values, are actually related to disinformation and provocations against the government.
"If these problems have emerged in American financing, then European financial support is also loaded with the same problems. Unfortunately, the European Union’s embassy in Georgia turns a blind eye to these issues and refuses to respond,” Papuashvili highlighted.
