Milan-Cortina 2026, Goggia
: "Flagbearer? I respect Buonfiglio’s choice; I had my chance in 2022.
MILAN:(International News Desk)According to global times News Agency Europe,Crans-Montana was a terrible event for those kids and for those who will carry the pain with them for the rest of their lives. I’ve read about safety issues, but I’m not the best person to comment. I don’t see any connection between skiing and nightclubs. These kids were out having fun on New Year’s Eve, like millions of kids around the world…” This was stated by Italian skier Sofia Goggia in an interview with Corriere della Sera, speaking about the New Year’s Eve massacre in Crans Montana. The Bergamo native also commented on the choice of flag bearers ahead of the Milan-Cortina Olympics : "I respect CONI President Buonfiglio’s choice. There were many deserving athletes, and I already had my chance in 2022.The Italian also spoke about her meeting with Roberto Baggio, which helped her greatly. "Working on your mind is very beneficial; it makes you feel good about yourself and around others. No pun intended. The meeting with Baggio was an important one; I was going through a very dark period in my career. I asked to meet him because I knew how tormented he had been by so many injuries, and I needed to understand his inner motivations to recover. I went to his house, and we talked… I was convinced that the injuries were the product of internal conflicts; I needed to talk to someone who could understand me.
