Malta’s President highlights quality-of-life challenges in Christmas message.
MALTA:(International News Desk)According to global times News Agency Europe,President Myriam Spiteri Debono, in her Christmas message, drew attention to the urgent challenges facing Malta , warning that economic success alone is not enough to ensure the common good. While acknowledging strong economic growth, the fruit of the hard work of many, the President stated that the country faces growing concerns about quality of life. She cited work-life balance, the rising cost of living, and mental health as some of the key challenges affecting many families.Environmental degradation, poverty, housing shortages, and addictions were also cited as issues requiring urgent attention. Spiteri Debono emphasized that these challenges cannot be ignored and must be addressed collectively through open and sincere dialogue. According to the President, both government institutions and non-governmental organizations share the responsibility to identify solutions that put people at the center of public policies.The President expressed her hope that Malta will continue to be an island of peace and solidarity , while also promoting these values internationally. She concluded by calling on citizens to support future generations and ensure that the spirit of solidarity associated with Christmas endures throughout the year. "By working together,” she concluded, "we can overcome the obstacles and challenges that lie ahead.
