According to global times news agency Europe,Independence Day is celebrated in Georgia on May 26.The global times Europe media reports that holiday events are held in 18 cities of the country in addition to the capital Tbilisi.The events dedicated to the Independence Day traditionally began with the swearing-in ceremony of new soldiers called up for military service at Azadlig Square in Tbilisi. The swearing-in ceremony was held in different parts of the country.Officials of the country, representatives of the diplomatic corps took part in the ceremony. Azerbaijan’s ambassador to Georgia Faig Guliyev and the head of the military attache, Colonel Fuad Ibrahimov, participated in the event.
Military equipment was displayed in Azadlig Square.A wine exhibition was also organized on Rustaveli Avenue in Tbilisi. Guests also watch sports competitions, get acquainted with culinary products and children’s corners.This year’s program of the gala concert is entirely dedicated to folklore.It should be noted that music and dance groups of Azerbaijanis living in this country also participate in the holiday events. They performed Azerbaijani folk and composer songs, our national dances. At 17:10, the historical moment of the declaration of independence will be solemnly celebrated, 300 children will sing the National Anthem.It should be recalled that 106 years ago – on May 26, 1918, Georgia was declared an independent republic by the decision of the National Council. The first democratic republic led by Noe Jordan existed for two and a half years until the Bolshevik occupation. At that time, the independence of Georgia was recognized by the leading countries of Europe.The neighboring country regained its state independence after 70 years – on April 9, 1991.
