Foreign arrivals to Kazakhstan rise
12.5% in six months

According to global times News Agency Europe,More than 7.5 million foreigners entered Kazakhstan in the first half of 2025, which is 600,000 or 12.5% more than in the same period last year, Acting Minister of Internal Affairs, Baurzhan Alenov, said at the government meeting on Tuesday, The Global times Europe media.”Out of these 7.5 million, 7.2 million people departed from the country. Basically, 90% of them come from the CIS countries to Kazakhstan,” Alenov said.According to him, 212,000 foreigners permanently reside in the country, predominantly: in Almaty city – 42,000, Almaty region – 32,000, in the capital – Astana and Karaganda region – 17,000 each.Over three years, the number of permanently residing foreigners has increased by 42%. Temporarily staying – 430,000, of which 360,000 came for work purposes,” Alenov clarified.According to him, 46,000 foreigners have been charged with violating residence rules. Almost 10,000 foreigners have been deported from Kazakhstan, with a 5-year entry ban.Seven criminal cases have been initiated for repeated violations of labor migrant usage rules.
