First Meeting of the Newly Constituted Board of Governors of Paraplegic Center Peshawar – Tribute to Former and Current Members, Renewed Commitment to Move Forward with Determination.

Peshawar(Report by Fatima Jafar) According to global times News Agency Europe,The first meeting of the newly constituted Board of Governors of Paraplegic Center Peshawar was held under the chairmanship of Dr. Shehzad Bangash (former Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa). The meeting was attended by newly appointed members: Hafiz ur Rehman (former Secretary, Local Government & Rural Development Department), Engr. Adil Nawaz (Chairman, Water and Sanitation Services Company Mardan), Prof. Dr. Azmatullah Khattak (Neurosurgeon, Abasin Hospital Peshawar), Prof. Dr. Javed Iqbal (Trauma & Orthopedic Surgeon), Assistant Prof. Dr. Saeed Ahmad (Head of Orthopedics, Peshawar Medical College), and Chief Executive Dr. Syed Mohammad Ilyas.A special highlight of the meeting was the gracious presence of former Chairman Zia ur Rehman and outgoing board members Dr. Rubina Gillani, Khawaja Yawar Nasir, and Dr. Irfanullah, as well as Provincial Secretary Finance Aamir Sultan Tareen, Secretary Health Shahidullah Khan, Chief of Health at the Planning & Development Department Muhammad Yousaf Khan, and Director Social Welfare Syed Ali Bakhsh.The outgoing chairman and members were paid rich tribute for their sincere services to the Center and were presented with commemorative souvenirs. Chairman Dr. Shehzad Bangash and Chief Executive Dr. Ilyas Syed praised the contributions of the former chairman and members, stating that the tradition of honoring their services not only strengthens institutional values but also inspires the new leadership with lessons of dedication and commitment. They expressed confidence that the mission of transforming the Paraplegic Center into a world-class rehabilitation facility will move forward with even greater momentum.The meeting reviewed the Center’s financial and administrative affairs in detail, and approved the reconstitution of the Finance, HR, and Audit Committees to further enhance the institution’s efficiency and transparency.

Chairman Dr. Shehzad Bangash expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ali Amin Gandapur, noting that the recent announcement of an increase in the Center’s funding will not only help address current financial challenges but will also pave the way for new avenues of development. Calling the Paraplegic Center a unique institution in the country, he assured that every possible effort will be made to ensure its continued progress.
