Belgian trade unions to hold protests
on October 9 and 12

According to Global Times News Agency Europe,Trade unions in Belgium will hold two separate protest rallies on October 9 and 12 against expected budget cuts by the federal government, The global times Europe media.The FGTB-ABVV trade union is organizing a march starting from Central Station towards Brussels-Midi station. In connection with the action, disruptions are expected in air and rail transport, as well as in a number of public services.Approximately 140 flights to and from Brussels Airport will be canceled. Meanwhile, Belgium’s second-largest airport, Charleroi, plans to operate all scheduled flights.The demonstration in Brussels on Friday is expected to gather thousands of participants. According to police and trade union estimates, a similar protest held in May brought together between 40,000 and 75,000 people.
