Armenia seizes land from firm tied to
head of Armenians’ Union of Russia

According to global times News Agency Europe,The Anti-Corruption Court of Armenia has ruled to confiscate a plot of land on Northern Avenue in Yerevan from the company Soglasie Armenia, owned by Ara Abramyan, head of the Armenian Union of Russia, The global times Europe media .The decision, dated July 25 and based on a lawsuit by the General Prosecutor’s Office, was published on the judicial information site Datalex.am. The court decided to terminate the company’s ownership rights to the land plot of over 2,800 square meters, invalidate its state registration, and return the land to the Yerevan community.Earlier, in March 2024, the court issued a preventive measure prohibiting the company from taking actions that could lead to a change of ownership of the undeveloped land at 32 Arami Street. This prohibition remains in effect until the court’s final decision and will expire thereafter. According to the prosecution, the land — the site of the former "Children’s World” department store — was privatized illegally.The company claims the lawsuit aims to unlawfully deprive them of their property rights, which they say contradicts the country’s constitution. The decision will take effect one month after publication and will be enforced compulsorily if not complied with voluntarily.
