According to global Times news agency Europe,A legislative package consisting of 14 bills has been proposed in the Georgian Parliament.The global Times Europe media, once these laws come into force, the participation of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in the decision-making process on public matters will no longer be mandatory.Under the proposed amendments, NGOs will no longer nominate candidates for the Prosecutors’ Council or the Disciplinary Board of Judges of Common Courts. Additionally, NGO representatives will not take part in forming the body responsible for consumer protection within the National Regulatory Authority.As per the decision of the parliamentary majority, these changes will apply to all laws requiring mandatory NGO participation in state decision-making processes.
