*اسپورٹس گالامیں جامعہ کراچی کے 40 شعبہ جات سے 4500 طلباوطالبات حصہ لے رہے ہیں*

*اسپورٹس انسان کو ذہنی اور جسمانی طور پر مضبوط کرتاہے،ہمارے نوجوان قوم کا قیمتی اثاثہ اور ملک کا مستقبل ان سے درخشاں ہوگا۔ڈاکٹر خالد عراقی*

کراچی (رپورٹ : جاوید صدیقی) جامعہ کراچی کے وائس چانسلر پروفیسرڈاکٹر خالد محمودعراقی نے کہا کہ اسپورٹس کلچر کوفروغ دینے کے لئے اسپورٹس کے مقابلوں کا تواترکے ساتھ انعقاد ناگزیر ہے، ہم اپنے نوجوانوں کو اسپورٹس کی جانب راغب کرکے ہی ایک صحتمند معاشرے کا خواب شرمندہ تعبیر کرسکتے ہیں۔جامعہ کراچی کھیلوں کی سرگرمیوں کو فروغ دینے کے لئے جامعہ میں زیر تعلیم طلبہ کو کھیل کے ہرمیدان میں اپنی صلاحیتوں کے اظہار اور منوانے کے بھرپور مواقع فراہم کررہی ہے۔اسپورٹس انسان کو ذہنی اور جسمانی طور پر مضبوط کرتاہے،وسائل اگر چہ محدود ہیں تاہم جو کچھ ممکن ہوگا یونیورسٹی اپنے کھلاڑیوں کے لئے ضرورکریگی،یہ قوم کا قیمتی اثاثہ ہیں ملک کا مستقبل ان کے دم سے درخشاں ہوگا۔اسپورٹس کا شعبہ رنگ،نسل اور مذہب سے بالاتر ہوکر سب کوگراؤنڈ میں اپنی صلاحتیں دکھانے کا موقع فراہم کرتا ہے۔ ان خیالات کا اظہارانہوں نے ڈائریکٹوریٹ آف فزیکل ایجوکیشن جامعہ کراچی کے زیر اہتمام انٹر ڈیپارٹمنٹل اسپورٹس گالا 2024 ء کی افتتاحی تقریب سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے کیا۔تقریب کا اہتمام جامعہ کراچی کے فٹبال گراؤنڈ میں کیا گیا تھا۔ تقریب میں مختلف شعبہ جات کے صدور، اساتذہ اور طلبہ کی کثیر تعداد کے علاہ مختلف کھیلوں سے تعلق رکھنے والے افراد نے بھی شرکت کی۔ جامعہ کراچی کے وائس چانسلر ڈاکٹر خالد عراقی نے مزید کہا کہ مجھے یہ بتائے ہوئے خوشی ہورہی ہے کہ جامعہ کراچی میں عصرحاضر کے تقاضوں سے ہم آہنگ فٹبال گراؤنڈ تعمیر کے آخری مراحل میں ہے اور مجھے امید ہے کہ دو ماہ کے اندر وہ کھیلنے کے لئے تیار ہوگا، نہ صرف یہ بلکہ وہاں پر ہائر ایجوکیشن کمیشن کے تعاون سے فٹبال اکیڈمی بھی بنائی جائے گی۔ اس موقع پر ڈائریکٹوریٹ آف فزیکل ایجوکیشن جامعہ کراچی کے ڈائریکٹر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر باسط انصاری نے خطبہ استقبالیہ پیش کرتے ہوئے بتایا کہ اسپورٹس گالا 2024 ء میں جامعہ کراچی کے 40 شعبہ جات سے 4500 طلبا و طالبات حصہ لے رہیں جن میں 42 کرکٹ اور 28 فٹبال ٹیمیں بھی شامل ہیں۔ ڈاکٹر باسط انصاری نے مزید کہا کہ جامعہ کراچی کی تاریخ میں پہلی مرتبہ اسپورٹس گالا 2024 ء میں ڈیفرنٹلی ایبل طلبہ بھی حصہ لے رہے ہیں۔ڈاکٹر باسط نے بتایاکہ جس کا آغاز بینائی سے محروم طلبہ کی دوڑ میں حصہ لینے سے ہورہا ہے۔ جامعہ کراچی کے المنائی اور جرمن یونیورسٹی کے پروفیسر و اسپورٹس سائنٹسٹ ڈاکٹر طارق علی گجر نے کہا کہ جامعہ کراچی کی اسپورٹس کے فروغ کے لئے کئے جانے والے اقدامات قابل ستائش ہیں، انہوں نے کہا کہ میدان میں رہنے والے ونر جبکہ میدان سے باہر رہنے والے لوزر کہلاتے ہیں۔ اسپورٹس کلچر کو فروغ دے کر نہ صرف ایک صحتمند معاشرہ تشکیل پاتا ہے بلکہ اس سے ملک کی معیشت بھی بہتر ہوسکتی ہے۔ ایروبک ٹرینر مصباح بٹ نے کہا کہ اسپورٹس کی سرگرمیوں میں حصہ لینے سے نہ صرف مقابلے کے رجحان میں اضافہ ہوتا ہے بلکہ اس کے انسانی صحت پر بھی بہت ہی مثبت اثرات مرتب ہوتے ہیں۔ جامعہ کراچی کی جانب سے اس طرح کی سرگرمیوں کا انعقاد لائق تحسین اور قابل تقلید ہے۔

*KU VC Professor Dr Khalid Iraqi opens Sports Gala 2024*

Report : JAWED SIDDIQUI The Vice Chancellor University of Karachi Professor Dr Khalid Mahmood Iraqi inaugurated the KU Interdepartmental Sports Gala 24’ at the campus football ground on Wednesday. The eight-day long sports gala is organized by the KU Directorate of Physical Education in which around 4, 500 male and female students of 40 departments are participating in the games including archery, athletics, badminton, basketball, football, cricket, volleyball, and special races for the differently-abled students of the KU. Addressing the students, he said that it is necessary to arrange sports activities and healthy competitions regularly to promote sports culture in society. People of every age like sports and especially youths take a lot of interest in such activities and it also keeps them healthy and active. He shared that to promote the activities, the University of Karachi is providing ample opportunities in the sports field to the students studying on the campus to express and demonstrate their abilities and skills. The KU VC Professor Dr Khalid Iraqi mentioned that sports activity helps in strengthening a person mentally and physically. He added that although the resources are limited, the KU administration will do whatever is possible to promote the sports activities and players on the campus.“Players are a valuable asset to the nation. They represent the country at the topmost levels in different games, and show their skills to the world besides naming the country at the international level.”The KU VC Professor Dr Khalid Iraqi informed the audience that a modern football ground is under construction and within two months it will be ready to play. The KU has also initiated a plan to build a football academy with the support of the Higher Education Commission on this ground. On this occasion, the KU Director of the Directorate of Physical Education Professor Dr Basit Ansari said that this is a very good sign that differently-abled students are also participating in the Sports Gala 2024 besides a large number of male and female students. He shared that 42 cricket and 28 football teams are a part of this event while all the competitions will take place at different locations of the campus.“For the first time in the history of the University of Karachi, differently-abled students are participating in the Sports Gala 24’.”Meanwhile, an international scholar Dr Tariq Ali Gujjar said that we must appreciate the steps taken by the University of Karachi for the promotion of sports. He expressed that it was good to see a large number of students sitting in the stadium and coming to watch different matches. He added that sports activities help create a healthy society and could also be a good source to enhance the country’s resources and revenue if planned properly. Another speaker, an aerobic trainer Misbah Butt said that participating in sports activities not only increases the tendency of competition but also has very positive effects on human health. A large number of students from different departments, faculty members, heads and representatives of various sports bodies, and others attended the opening ceremony.
